PETS (President Elect Training Seminar) - Friday, March 7 - Saturday, March 8
 
Robert and Matthew will attend the annual seminar in Vicksburg and hear inspiring presentations about everything from Rotary International's long-term goals to effective club management and greater participation in service projects.
 
CAMDEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DICTIONARY PROJECT - Wednesday, March 25
 
We will leave from Robert's office at 9:30 and arrive at the school by 10:20. We will be in the classrooms between 10:30-11:00 and will hand out dictionaries to two third-grade classes. We will drive from the school directly to Parker House for our regular meeting. Please talk to Joe or Robert about volunteering your time that morning. We are working on tying in a Clean Water Project with fellow Rotarian Barbara Door, and we'll also presenting the school with a $500 gift certificate for school supplies from The Bookshelf on Highway 51 in Ridgeland.
 
S.I.D.S. WALK FOR BABIES - Saturday, March 28
 
This 5K walk will take place at Winner's Circle Park in Flowood. Registration is $15/person. Please ask Joe for a registration form if you haven't picked one up. Registration the day of the event begins at 8:00. The walk begins at 9:00 and will take place at the park. You will receive a free t-shirt. If you plan to walk, please wear your Madison-Gluckstadt Rotary t-shirt.
 
DISTRICT CONFERENCE - Thursday, April 16 - Saturday, April 18
 
Joe and Robert will attend this year's conference in Meridian and compare notes with district leaders and club presidents all over our part of the state. If you're interested in attending the conference (which includes a golf tournament on April 16), please talk to Joe.
 
GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE - Wednesday, April 29
 
This year's team is from North India and will include six Rotarians from that country. Joe and Dr. Sethi have offered to house a member for three nights. If you are interested in hosting a team member, please talk to Joe, and be aware that you will NOT be responsible for entertaining/chaffeuring that member for 72 straight hours (the GSE team has activites that will occupy each day they are in the Jackson area).
 
FAMILY NIGHT WITH THE BRAVES - later this spring
 
This spring social will take place at Trustmark Park, most likely on a Friday or Saturday night in May or June. We'll reserve one of the family booths adjacent to the home bullpen on the left field side. Please plan to bring your spouse and kids.
